VAG has used a front mount intercooler design as standard. While this intercooler is sufficient for cooling non-modified vehicles, our tests have shown that even a basic remapping of the ECU (stage 1 remap) leads to high intake temperatures and power loss. By installing a larger and more efficient Airtec Intercooler, intake temperatures are consistently kept cooler, ensuring engine safety and maximizing power output.
