Why do I need a catch can?
The original oil breather setup can lead to carbon build-up inside the engineâs intake system over time. This build-up forms an oily sludge that covers parts of the intake and inlet valves, reducing air flow, performance, and efficiency. Cleaning this build-up is a costly process, so itâs wise to take preventative measures. A catch can also filters harmful contaminants before they reach the inlet system.
